Do you think you can just (do something)?
This is something that you can say when you're angry about someone's actions:
Do you think you can just take my sandwich without asking?
Do you think you can just talk to me like that?
Using do and did to make a strong point
Usually, you learn that do and did are only used in questions, negatives, and short answers, but we also use them to make strong points. Note how we stress the auxiliary when we do this.
I did want to go to your party, but I was really busy.
As a matter of fact, I did arrive on time.
broke down - to stop working because of a fault
My car broke down on the freeway.
hassle - a situation that is annoying because it involves doing something difficult or complicated that needs a lot of effort
When I arrived in this country, I had to figure out how to get a registration and other essential documents. It was such a hassle.
